Carnival game guide

How to win carnival games, along with the silhouettes and names of commonly mistaken dragons.

Posted by Balgruff on Oct 14 2012 02:47 AM
The Carnival game is probably the most fair of the 3 mini games offered by SocialPoint in Dragon City.

Answering techniques:
  • Since you only have ten seconds, it is advisable to know as many dragons as possible and to type it down quickly
  • The word 'dragon' at the end is not needed. Eg: 'fire' is accepted for 'fire dragon'.
  • Capitalisation is not important Eg: 'Plant' will give you the win, just like 'plant' or 'Plant Dragon' and 'plant dragon'.
  • Spaces ARE IMPORTANT! Many times I have seen people lose because they typed down 'coolfire' instead of 'cool fire'.
  • Dragons with spaces required are: Carnivore Plant, Cool Fire, Dark Fire, Flaming Rock, Hot Metal, Ice Cream, Lantern Fish, as well as all pure elementals.
  • Spelling is important as well. It's Fluorescent not Flourescent , Chameleon instead of Chamaeleon, Gummy instead of Gummi and Vulcano instead of Volcano.
  • Press 'enter' instead of clicking on the submit button when you are done typing in your answer. It's faster.
Differences between commonly mistaken dragons:

Babies:

Earth, Flaming Rock, Dark Fire and Hedgehog:

The key is in the head ornament. The Dark Fire's flame is more blurry than the Flaming Rock's one.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alpine and Vulcano:

The key here is the mountain on the head. The mountain on the Alpine is more smoothed than the Vulcano.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Metal, Gold, Mercury and Platinum:

Again, the key is the horns on the head. The Platinum has the largest horns of the four, with Gold having curved horns while the Metal has straight horns. The only exception is the Mercury, with a liquid look to its body.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Electric, Neon, Fluorescent, and Laser:

The difference between these dragons are the tails. The Electric and Laser have lightning-bolt shaped tails, while the Fluorescent and Neon have curved tails. To distinguish between them, look at the head crests. The spike on the Laser is much thicker than the Electric while the Neon has a single spike as opposed to the many 'feathers' on the Fluorescent.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fire, Medieval and Cool Fire:

There is not much discernible difference between the Medieval and Fire, however, you can tell them apart by looking at the head. The Medieval has a slightly more blocky head than the Fire. The Cool Fire has a blurry outline.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cloud and Storm:

I can find absolutely no difference from these two dragons. Luckily, the Carnival game is animated. Look for lightning bolts. If you see lightning bolts in the first 3 seconds, it's a Storm. If not, quickly type down Cloud and hope for the best!

Juveniles:

Earth, Dark Fire, Flaming Rock and Hedgehog:

This is easier than the babies. Look at the backs and tails. Hedgehog has sharper spikes than Earth and Flaming Rock, while Dark Fire has flames all over its back. The Earth and Hedgehogs have solid tail tips while Dark Fire and Flaming Rock have fiery tails.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alpine and Vulcano:

As with the babies, look at he mountain. The Vulcano has craggy mountains versus the smooth one of the Alpine.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Metal, Gold, Mercury and Platinum:

Again, the horns are the key. The Platinum has the largest horns of the four, with Gold having curved horns while the Metal has straight horns. The only exception is the Mercury, with a liquid look to its body.

Electric, Laser, Fluorescent and Neon:

As with the babies, the difference between these dragons are the tails. The Electric has a lightning-bolt shaped tail, while the Fluorescent and Neon have curved tails. To distinguish between them, look at the head crests. the Neon has a single spike as opposed to the many 'feathers' on the Fluorescent. The Laser is different enough to exclude it from the adult section, as is the dark fire above.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fire, Medieval and Cool Fire:

This is also easier than the babies. The shape of the flame of the Cool Fire is different from the Fire and Medieval. The Medieval also has armour on its chest that distinguishes it from the Fire.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cloud and Storm:

Finally, there is a difference between the two. The horns on the storm is much longer than the cloud.

Adults:

Earth, Flaming Rock and Hedgehog:

The tails are the key this time. The Eath has a boulder on the tip of the tail while the Flaming Rock has a flame and the Hedgehog has a morning-star on the tail's end.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alpine and Vulcano:

The presence of clouds gives the Alpine dragon away. The Vulcano doesn't have any.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gold, Metal, Mercury and Platinum:

As with the other stages, the horns are the key. The Platinum has the largest horns of the four, with Gold having curved horns while the Metal has straight horns. The only exception is the Mercury, with a liquid look to its body.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Electric, Neon and Fluorescent:

The key is the spikes on the head. In order of number of spikes, The Fluorescent has the most, followed by the Electric and finally the Neon.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fire, Cool Fire and Medieval:

As with the juveniles, the shape of the flame of the Cool Fire is different from the Fire and Medieval. The Medieval also has armour on its chest that distinguishes it from the Fire.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cloud and Storm:

As with the juveniles, the horns of the Storm are muck longer and pointier than the Cloud.
